Should You Hire a Photographer and a Videographer
The short answer is yes. Having photos and videos can be a great way to remember the day. When it comes to choosing between the two, however, that is more personal preference. If you have a small budget and really want to have both photos and video we recommend only choosing one. I (Eric) had a client in the past that tried to save money on the photographer and videographer. They ended up so disappointed in the final result that they hired me to recreate some of the most important photos from their wedding.
If you choose to hire both, it is a good idea to look for photographers and videographers who have previous experience working together. In some instances, photographers and videographers end up competing against each other for the perfect shot instead of working together to best capture the memorable moments.
When we are working with a videographer that we have collaborated with in the past, we are able to brainstorm and coordinate about capturing the most meaningful parts of the wedding (first kiss, first dance, cake cutting, etc...) We will also bounce ideas off each other which is always a massive boost to creativity.
Whether you choose to hire a photographer, a videographer, or both, you will appreciate being able to reflect on all of the cherished memories from your special day.
